Poplar Grove Air Port Fly In
Event: Army Wings and Wheels 2009

Army Wings and Wheels 2009 will be open to the public June 6th and 7th. It is held on the 12 acre campus of the Vintage Wings and Wheels Museum at Poplar Grove Airport. The airport is located 3 miles north of Belvidere, IL.
This event highlights and honors the Army’s light aircraft used in the liaison role during WWII. The close association of these aircraft with Army Ground Forces personnel and equipment is depicted by the participation of members of the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association) and WWII era re-enactors of the HRS.
The weekend’s events include displays of liaison aircraft, military vehicles and camps. WWII veterans will be speaking about their experiences flying light aircraft during the war. A narrated vehicle review and aircraft demonstration will be held. Simulated WWII battles will be re-enacted by members of the HRS (Historical Re-enactment Society Inc.).
A pancake breakfast provided by EAA Chapter 1414 is available at additional cost both days.
Admission is $8.00 for Adults, $5.00 for seniors, $3.00 for children 12 and under, WW II veterans are free.
